“Hapag ng pag asa” [Table of Hope] by Joey Velasco
I imagine, that if I asked ten [10] people to explain what these three [3] words “Table of Hope” mean, I would receive a myriad of responses. I know for me, after just writing that initial title/theme I had to stop and think of all my own possibilities.
The Table is a gathering place. You could say it’s a source of nourishment – a place where we can obtain sustenance for both our body and spirit. Hope is a favorable expectation. When you add the two elements together, in their simplest of forms, this becomes a gathering place of favorable expectations.
On the night before our Lord was given over to false accusations, sufferings, and eventual Crucifixion, He and those closest to Him celebrated at a Table of Hope.
Here we are 2,000 years later, and in most Christian Worship Services we commemorate that celebration at The Communion Table. A place where all can gather.
If ever there was a Table of Hope, this should be it. After all, it was and is Jesus’ Table. He did not [nor would not] restrict anyone’s participation.
So, we gather at His Table of Hope to be nourished and with a favorable expectation.
You can almost hear Him saying: ‘Come on ya’ll… come as you are, ALL are welcome. Come and allow Me to serve you and nourish you – body, mind, and spirit.’
Two final reminders/thoughts; I Love you, AND I’ll be with you always!
See you… Meet you, at My Table of Hope! – Your Friend, Jesus
